Happy Bird Day?

Firstly, apologies for the corny title!

It's my day off and it's pouring with rain outside. Got a new cricut cartridge to play with so thought I'd take advantage of this typical English weather and do some crafting!

Patterned paper is  from K&Company. I really love the papers in this collection, the colours are muted and have a vintage feel and the distressed floral patterns are perfect to co-ordinate with the beautiful images on this cartridge.

I've cut the flourish and the birds out of white paper and coloured them with blue pencil and added tiny gems for the birds' eyes. I 'cut' the birdcage with a greyish brown cricut marker before actually cutting it out and added a few white pearls.

It's hard to see from the pictures, but I curled the birdcage a little to make it pop up and added 3D foam pads in the centre to make it hold its rounded position.

Supplies:

  • Cricut marker pen

Rock Chick

It's my dear friend Bex's birthday next week. She's mad about guitars - what a great excuse to use my newest cricut cartridge - rock chick.

Isn't that a gorgeous image of a girl with big eyes and a little skirt holding a guitar, I think she's really cute!

I sometimes get carried away with my colour choices so I made myself stick to black and white with one accent colour - in this case, pink.

Supplies:
  • cricut machine, rock chick cartridge
  • foam letter stickers (american crafts)
  • cardstock letter stickers (doodlebug)
  • cardstock - black, white, skin colour
  • patterned card (rockstar stack from DCWV)
  • corner cardstock stickers and backing paper (basic grey)
  • pink gems, ribbon bow
  • 8" x 8" card blank and envelope
It took a bit of time as there are lots of layers to this darling little rock chick but I'm pleased with the outcome and I know my friend will love it.
